Grants Pass Motels
A stay at any of the Grants Pass motels, Inns and B & B’s will put you in one of the nicest locations in the
Pacific Northwest. All within an easy walking or driving distance you can enjoy whitewater thrills, forest hiking
trails, drift boat and fly fishing. Grants Pass also offers a dynamic local arts and entertainment venue. You can
also partake in world class wine tasting, skiing, the Oregon Caves, Shakespeare Theater and more. You will also
experience small town life that lends an air of relaxation while also having the opportunity to be adventurous.
If you enjoy fishing most Grants Pass motels can hook you up with a guide that will match your skill and fishing
experience. Some of the fish that are native to this area are Chinook, Steelhead and Coho Salmon, also known as
Silvers. You can go after Spring Chinook in May and the Fall Chinook in September. Steelhead, considered the area’s
main attraction, can be caught from September through November. The Coho Salmon season is in late October.
Grants Pass was a bustling frontier town with dirt streets, hotels and saloons. They are all gone now but what
has sprung up is a quaint historic shopping district utilizing some of those beautiful old brick buildings of years
gone by. Some of the downtown historic district has some of the best antique stores around. There are also several
great little dining spots that offer breakfast, lunch and dinner.
It seems that almost anytime of the year you can hit one of the fantastic festivals or events hosted by the City
of Grants Pass. These events have been deemed some of the state’s finest. The first week of October features “Art
Along the Rogue” held downtown on “H” Street and will attract over ten thousand visitors. In July there is “Back to
the Fifties” attracting classic car enthusiasts and the last wee of May you can experience “Boatnik” which is a
five day event complete with jet boat races and parade.
During the past twenty or thirty years a new Southern Oregon treasure has emerged in the form of vineyards.
Grants Pass Motels are all located within a short 45 minute to three hour drive of any of this diverse collection
of vineyards and wineries. Taking a wine tasting tour can offer you views of the beautiful Rogue and Applegate
valleys and the chance to meet a family who are also the winemakers. They will pour your wine in a relaxing setting
and share stories and special wines with you.
If you are thinking of attending any of these events the Grants Pass Motels can quickly become booked. It is a
good idea to make your reservations early. Some of the Grants Pass Motels, Inns and B & B’s are located closer
and known more for certain activities such as rafting, fishing or wine tours. Any of these adventures, experiences
and discovers are ones you and your family will not soon forget.
